My sis and my mom tricked me to change the background pic of my computer, but when I minimized the facebook tap I saw this giant tarantula as a background pic and I got really scared cuz I have aracnophobia (the fear of spider ), I almost cried. It’s really funny tho. ENJOY MY PAIN!!!

My 12 year old seventh grade daughter is being bullied at school by a boy.?

She doesn’t want to tell on him because she fears the bullying will get worst. She says the boy is bigger than all of the kids and threatens them with gang affiliation. What should I do to help her? Keep in mind she has tried standing up to him, she’s tried to involve other kids but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

How can I get past my fear of going out in public places?

Even at family social gatherings.. I don’t know why but I prefer to be alone because of some sort of fear.. I never used to have this problem until a year or so ago. I feel like if I stay in my comfort zone that I’m protecting myself from something bad that could happen.

Any ideas as to how I can get past this?

How do I conquer my fear of flying?

I have a flight tomorrow morning to Oklahoma, but I also have serious aerophobia (I’m terrfied of flying in airplanes). Even the slightest bump from turblence nearly gives me a panic attack. I am always afraid that the plane is going to crash, even if it’s a short flight (1 hour) such as this one. I would like to be able to tolerate, better yet enjoy, flights. Are there any suggestions to help me get over my intense fear of flying?

How to get rid my fears of elevators and other small locked spaces?

I always take the stairs if there is an option. I always afraid that when take the elevator, the chances of the cable snapping are big. Then me and everyone in the elevator are going to plunge to out deaths…
Then I just realized recently, if I’m in a small locked room, my heart beats faster than normal even though I am relaxed.

How do you know if your fear of bugs is actually a phobia?

I have an enormous fear of bugs. When Im outside I am always on the lookout for creepy bugs..we live in arizona so there is no shortage. The worst is flying bugs! If I see that there is a bug on my patio I cannot open the door to let my dog out. If I see a wasp I literally begin to run! I just cant be around them at all. Am I phobic or is this just normal to hate bugs this much?

thanatophobia…anyone suffer from it? has anyone gotten over it?

I know i suffer from thanatophobia (fear of death) and it’s really devastating. You finally think your getting somewhere in overcoming it and then your whole world crashes down again.

It kind of stems from a fear of nothingness or non existence, whatever reasons people tell me for not worrying about it or fearing it just don’t seem to help. Currently i can’t stop thinking of loved ones dieing, i constantly work out peoples ages and how long they have left, and i can’t be around the very old, it messes with my head too much.

I want to resolve it, i’m 21 at christmas and don’t want to spend adulthood in fear and depression. I want to get married one day but freak out knowing we’ll be old, that my husband (hopefully if i get one) will die and i’ll have to say goodbye then wait for my own death. I want children but sometimes can’t bear the thought that i’d be giving them life only for it to be snuffed out.

I am going to go and talk to my doctor or a uni councilor but I’ve read so many internet posts by other sufferers who say it didn’t help! I’m looking into religion as well but i don’t think my beliefs will ever be strong enough to conquer this!

Has anyone got through it? Learned to live with it? Got any advice?

Why do you think people fear public speaking?
