Go for a ride with a flight instructor, and try flying the plane for a bit. It helps

You need to get more acquainted with flying.
Once you get used to planes, you trust them alot more.
I would recommend going and getting your sport license just for the hell of it (You can tell people about it for the rest of your life , too), and youll love flying from then on. It feels like youre in a limo after you do it yourself, You have no doubt in the aircraft or pilot at all.
Youll never get mad at a delay again either, since youll get why they did it. Youll also be able to answer people's questions every time you fly, which makes them feel way better.

well you just need to get on and mentally tell your self your on a bus, and stop thinking about your fear....I fly all the time at least 3 times a month...I have for years..I have been in near misses I have been where the plane landed on a flat tire, and I have also been in the air when 9/11 happened....but I was over Atlantic City and had no clue as to what on earth was going on in the air nor on the ground and still didnt..but to ease your fear.....Do not think of flying as FEAR....it is a way and the safest way of transportation...yes things happen as more often in a car than air...but you are ok...airplanes are guided and programed by COMPUTERS and not by man alone...they are all on a course and have destinations like clock work and land and take off in the same patern....but honestly it is more common now that things will be ok....and if your flying SWA you are in safe hands.they have never ever had in their history but 1 crash and that was at love field in dallas texas....so get on board, bring you ipod....a good book and some chips and you will be fine..in fact while in the air demand yourself to look out the window..ITS GORGEOUS~!!!!!! "you will be safe and ok" Just think of it this way...GOD has a plan for all of us...Our destination is not our own....he will take us in our sleep, in a car, at work, on an elevator, in our favorite store ....ie MACY's, he will take us in our baths...just know ALL, not some or this or that but ALL is in his hands.....and you are a part of GOD's plan....

By tomorrow...you can't.

Whatever you do...do NOT get drunk.

Drunks become beligerant on planes, and in the US, it is a Federal Felony to "Interfere With A Flight Crew."

We had an Irish gentleman pulled off an international flight here last week...

I would suggest contacting your doctor to get a mild tranquililzer for the trip; the more trips you make and see that nothing bad happens, the more comfortable you will be, and that just takes time.

By stopping being such a sissy-la-la. If you just come to terms with the fact that you are but one out of billions of humans on this earth, and realize that most of these poor souls eek out a miserable existence, you will not fear death as much.
